The International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) is an organization that provides standards for testing packaging for all types of shipping under a wide range of conditions.
Their mission is to “To provide economic and environmental benefits by preventing product damage and over packaging during the physical distribution of products as a result of creating, advocating and providing performance testing standards, training, education and certification.”
Performance Testing Labs is an independent lab that performs a series of tests against ISTA standards to check whether or not your packaging meets these shipping standards.
Part of our procedure in evaluating your packaging process is to suggest that you have this ISTA testing done to determine the effectiveness of your packaging as it relates to safe shipping.
